Had Vietnamese grilled beef rice for dinner tonight, and it was quite a delight, gobbling everything, eating at hyperfast speeds, reliving those 5 very memorable weeks I spent living in the Bay Area, of which we had grilled beef rice for lunch everyday for 3 whole weeks at a Vietnamese restaurant around the area.

And those very memorable times came back to me, as I ate my dinner--the cool, crisp and dry ten-degree-celsius air, converting temperatures from degrees fahrenheit to degrees celsius all the time in our heads, working through nights, missing a particular someone, all the silliness in all of that, the crazy, warped up time scales we had, knocking off only at 2am each morning, sleeping at 4am, and waking up at 9, 10am before starting work at noon. Haha. And not to mention the overly sumptuous meals we had all day--giant T-bone steaks the size of a person's face (really!) with 3 eggs sunny-side up, all the seafood--giant stacks of freshly boiled prawns, giant crabs, giant lobsters amidst unlimited rice--I put on an unbelievable 15kg (33% of my total weight haha) in those 5 weeks (though, only to lose most of it before I made it back to Singapore in fits of depression and all).

Ah. Those were memorable times. :) And once again, the last days, weeks, of the year live up to its reputation for fatal nostalgia. Haha. And once again, the end of the year is passing by way, way too quickly--and Christmas is upon us again.
