Ooh traffic here has hit a new record, though with but a measely 292 unique hits this month, putting that just past the old record of 284 hits set in May this year. This really makes me wonder who really reads what I write, since 1. I don't write very regularly here, 2. there isn't much juicy gossip-worthy stuff like extremely intimate stories of myself here because those I save for my diary, and 3. I don't think that many people link me, because I simply don't like that many people, and 4. well, I don't think I'm a very sociable person.
Which makes me wonder how come there are people who average a 100 hits a day on their weblogs. Haha. Oh well, we are all human and we all just crave attention, don't we?
I guess, as we grow up, the line between good and bad, right and wrong, blurs, shrinks, and eventually fades away as we discover the existence of a new colour, called grey, that really, isn't much of a colour because it's too many colours all in one- a thousand colours, all of which are admissible as, well, grey.
In short, as we grow up, what used to seem right to our childish, idealistic minds, can be wrong sometimes, while we begin to accept, even if only condoning it, what used to seem wrong to us. There isn't really any specific, concrete example of this all in my mind right now, just that it's been an issue that's been bugging me for quite some time, that I've been thinking about, pondering over, mulling through, chewing on.
What's coming to this world of ours, fair Singapore, where homosexuals can find jobs in government but are "not condoned". Hmm. I'm not for or against homosexuality in any way; well it's just a preference, even if I may feel a little uncomfortable with the idea; but my point is, since when has ambiguity had a chance to survive in Singapore's ordered society?
It's just like attention; attention-seeking in kids is, well, frowned upon by many, with many an unpleasant label for attention-seeking kids among us students, like that boy who whistles at girls and dresses up lavishly, or that girl who flirts around boys, those typical stereotypes all too familiar to many students (even if I never noticed any until pointed out because my nose was all too often trapped in the spine of a book, like Michael Parkins'es "Economics. Third Ed." and its very interesting write-up on deliberate recessions and the US Federal Reserve haha).
And now, people go about seeking attention, drawing it upon themselves, with a tinge of guilt perhaps? but with no less gutso nonetheless, having accepted the need for some attention as a basic attribute of human nature.
Perhaps, moderation is the key--do things in moderation? Haha. It's interesting, this subject of value systems. Perhaps I shouldn't be studying Computer Science in future; darn, I hate it when I come to such conclusions. Haha.
Anyhow, it's interesting food for thought, ain't it?
