Aren't you the romantic? Life is poetic. If you
don't already, write poetry, you're good at it.

Interesting, aren't these things? Especially when you haven't posted for a long time and have nothing much to talk about either haha.
Anyway it's been an interesting weekend that's rekindled my interest in Economics and the world around me. This article in last week's issue of TIME magazine featured Singapore's now almost chronic unemployment problem of the last 2 years, and the structural problems in our economy, and the gloom facing us.
Coincidentally, I picked up a copy of an SDP report on the conditions of labour in Singapore at the library, that basically discredits the PAP and their policies thus far. But, that's not the point; the crux is how it's painted a picture of labour economics in ways I've never seen it, and it's importance.
And so, once again, the question of sustainable long-term economic growth and development comes back to bug me, to haunt me: the question of what will become of Singapore, in a hundred, two hundred years' time. Are we viable?
That is a question of great academic interest, of developmental and labour economics, of sociology, of all known social sciences. So I shall devote my time to researching this for the next month or two, perhaps.
And hopefully I shall be able to come up with a paper on the dilemma Singapore is facing today in a month or two. So, watch out for it on my new site, Demystified, which sadly, still remains unpopulated.
And maybe, with intellectual questions to ponder upon, 日子会好过些.
Have a good day. :)
