And so the saga of alarm clocks in my life continued today; in an unprecedented fit of nocturnal violence, I swept my alarm clock off my bed, and it went flying off in what I imagined to be a perfect arc, before it crashed to the ground at, what, 3am?

It was a terrible night last night; owing to my 3-hour afternoon nap, my 11pm SMS conversation with an old friend, and the hopelessly noisy neighbouring bunks, I fell into a fitful sleep only at midnight, not helped at all by the humid night.

And through that fitful, semi-conscious sleep, not only did I send my alarm clock on a flight path to earth, I knocked my glasses off my the top deck of my double-decked bed too, and had to clamber out of bed, half-asleep, at 2am, to retrieve them.

And, thanks to my alarm clock which took to the skies, there was no contraption left to wake me up, and I woke up only at 5.27am exactly, to the sounds of "Oei! Time to fall in!".

And for the first time ever, I speedily jumped out of bed, pulled up my socks and shoes, and headed for breakfast without brushing my teeth.

Haha. What an experience it was. The quirks of living on the top deck of a double-decked bed.
