Nope, it's not quite the dead of the night yet.
There's something very special, very mystical, about the dead of the night; the time when your mind and heart come to life as the hour of twilight fades away, as the world lulls and falls into a quiet, peaceful slumber.
There are some special things that only happen, that are said only, at this time of the day, in the peace, quiet, and solitude of the world.
It is only in the privacy and silence of this time, that you would carefully lift old letters and postcards, greeting cards and little notes, out of their dusty shoeboxes and corners, and read through them slowly, savouring every little memory, every little nugget of times past so delicately preserved in the familiar handwritings of dear friends, as you relive those fond moments so dearly missed.
It is only in the quiet and tranquility of this time, that you would have long, 通宵 telephone conversations, as you whisper into the phone, careful not to wake the rest of your family up, chatting about everything there could be to talk about, more often than not sharing the most intimate of your thoughts and feelings, the deepest and darkest of your secrets, baring your soul, sometimes even confessing your long-hidden feelings for that special person.
It is only in this peace that you can sit back, clear your mind, and listen to your soul, to your heart, free of the clutter and chaos of your conscious mind, as you look back on times past, on past doings, and relive old times of happiness and joy, sorrow and pain, your eyes watering as you cry silently for those times of sadness, as you cry happily tears of joy for those overwhelming moments.
It is only in this quietude, that many, many things happen.
THe dead of the night, is a very special time.
Stay up for it sometime, and feel the magic.
