It's terrifying how the human body begins to malfunction as it reaches dizzyingly high temperatures.
The past three nights of continuous 39-degrees Celsius fevers have left me floundering, producing muscular aches all over my body, shooting immense, acute, sharp pains through the back of my head that wouldn't go away, burning my entire body as I writhed, tossed and turned on my bed, trying to shift away from the scorchingly hot parts of it, as I shivered through the cold of the heat even as I was burning up.
I thought those nights, the darkest and longest ones for me in quite a while, would never end.
Hopefully tonight will be better.
